Terms & Conditions

RETURNS

All sales are final on digital, print, and audio media, as well as on new items that have been opened, except in the case of an item being defective, damaged when received, or grossly misrepresented. (Unopened new items may be returned or exchanged, but all shipping costs or other fees will be at the buyer's expense.) Please carefully read product descriptions and study product pictures to ensure that you want to purchase what you are purchasing. When refunds are given they will be in the form of store credit.

Musical instruments may be returned within 30 days, minus the cost of shipping and a 10% restocking fee (buyer is responsible for paying return shipping, which must include adequate insurance). Musical instruments may only be returned or exchanged if brought back in the condition they were sold. Exchanges made for musical instruments made entirely in-person (i.e. no shipping) will wave the restocking fee if returned in the condition they were sold.

Lesson Attendance and other lesson policies

Health safety:

* Please have students wash their hands before lessons. This is also a good habit for at home because white keys and dirty fingers do not mix well.

* Parents/guardians are welcome to stay during lessons. (But please step out of the room if you need to take a call.) Drop-offs are fine too, but please be sure to be timely in picking them up.

Attendance:

* If your child is ill, please either do the lesson virtually that week if they are feeling up to doing the lesson or ask to reschedule your lesson for another day if they are not feeling up to doing it that day. (Contacting us as early as you can would be appreciated.)

* In the event of inclement weather or transportation issues you are always welcome to do lessons virtually if you don’t have a safe way to get to your lesson. If school is cancelled for weather, we can do lessons virtually, or we can still have them in-person if you feel comfortable driving. We can probably do your lesson earlier if school is cancelled, so feel free to ask about that possibility. If it doesn’t work to do the lesson virtually on a snow day (such as if the power or internet is not working), we can try to reschedule.

* If the teacher cancels your lesson it will either be rescheduled or credited toward the next month’s bill.

* If you are unable to attend your lesson, please tell us ahead of time and I will try to reschedule it (preferably at least a week in advance). You will not be guaranteed a make-up, but we will do our best to find something for you. If you forget to come to your lesson you will still be charged for that week.

*There are no lessons on major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve through New Year's Day, and Independence Day.

* Vacations, out-of-town events, parties, and other events may conflict with your lesson time, so please plan ahead and contact us about possibly rescheduling around those. You are still expected to pay for that week if you choose to do something else during your lesson time, but we will try to offer an opportunity to reschedule when possible if we are informed well ahead of time.

* Please still come to your lesson if you don’t feel that your child is prepared that week. We can still have a productive lesson even if they didn’t get much practice in.

* Please pay for your lessons at the first lesson of each month. (Yes, you may pay for multiple months at a time if you would like.)

Building use:

* If you arrive early, please have your child wait quietly for your lesson (bring a book or homework). If you have a young child that struggles with waiting quietly and needs constant supervision, please either come inside and wait with them until their lesson time or wait in the car so that they do not disrupt other students (or other disrupt other activities that might be taking place elsewhere in the building).

* In the event that the church parking lot is being snow-plowed when you arrive, please be courteous and don’t park where they are working, or stay with your car so you can move out of their way.

* If you child has a snack or drink (other than a water bottle), please have them finish it before the lesson (preferably in the car) or save it for afterwards. We don’t want to waste our lesson time cleaning up a spill.
